From the moment I first met Megan I knew she would be the most amazing bride to work with! She was so kind, funny, and easy-going. Megan had looked at many gowns and could not find one she loved. She had always envisioned a gown that had elements of blue, lace, and a tea length skirt. I drew up a few sketches based on just an e-mail conversation and sent them to Megan ( see below)
From there we narrowed it down to a gathered bodice with a hand cut tulle bolero and a full tulle skirt with hand cut applique’s of lace underneath with a pale blue lace trim along the bottom of the gown. So I re-sketched the image below. Best part about the gown?? She had blue buttons down the back!
I love Megan’s gown because it’s a twist on Cinderella’s gown. I love the pale blue color of the skirt covered with white tulle. The accents of lace. Not to mention the beautiful bolero which had swarovski crystals on it! So pretty! The biggest challenge in making Megan’s gown was dying the lace trim on the bottom of her gown a perfect blue to match her fabric. Her lace was silk which makes it a bit more difficult to dye and dry without damaging it. I got it figured out and the result was really quite beautiful.
I am so grateful I got to be a part of Megan and Ted’s special day! Below are images from the wedding day taken by Once Like a Spark Photography.

I loved Megan’s gown and bolero so much that they will be included in the new 2012 collection out early next year! Stay tuned for more information on that! This last picture is an image of Megan’s custom bowl with her gown sketch. Bowl by Paloma’s Nest.
